COLLABORATIVE ATTORNEYS
Although Collaborative Divorce seeks to avoid going to court, the settlement is still a legal agreement. Your Collaborative lawyer will guide you on all aspects of the law, including child custody, child support, maintenance agreements, and financial settlements.
DIVORCE COACHES
Divorce is a major life transition, but doesn't need to be a traumatic event. A mental health professional helps you manage the mental and emotional challlenges of changing relationships. Working with both parties, your coach will guide you in surmounting the emotional obstacles that often impede a fair resolution.
CHILD SPECIALISTS
Children often suffer most from divorce, but are often the least able to understand or express their feelings. The goal of the child specialist is to ensure that children are a priority, not a casualty. When the parents have difficulty communicating, your child specialist is trained to help the team develop a child-centered parenting plan, often by meeting with your child(ren) and/or the parents to evaluate the child(ren)'s needs.
FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS
A financial specialist will help you build a property settlement tailored with your future financial well-being in mind. Reviewing all assets, debts, and incomes, your financial specialist will assist you in analyzing your options. You and your attorney can then construct a comprehensive plan for the next stage of your life.
MORTGAGE SPECIALISTS
The Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) will assist you, in conjunction with your Financial Specialist, in managing and protecting your equity in real estate holdings and/or acquisition of property during the divorce process. The CMPS will analyze your current situation and offer mortgage planning recommendations, tailored to your individual needs.
VOCATIONAL COUNSELORS
One or both spouses may need to seek options in obtaining meaningful employment that allows him and/or her to become financially self-reliant. Vocational services help guide a spouse’s future employment and earning capacity by offering resume & interview preparation and educational & retraining programs.
MEDIATORS
A mediator is a skilled neutral professional who can assist the parties and counsel in facilitating a dialogue that will identify and clarify the issues, formulate alternatives, provide case management, and resolve issues when conflicts are found. Collaborative mediators are specifically trained to help guide the parties through their conflict while respecting the integrity of the Collaborative process elected by the parties.
